"Gossip Girl" alum Blake Lively shared in a recent interview that she no longer needs the help of nannies as her parents are there to help her take care of her first daughter, James. She also talked about how she juggles motherhood and her acting career as well as being excited about her second baby.
"The Shallows" star revealed that she and her husband, actor Ryan Reynolds, need more help taking care of their now-18-month-old first daughter. She revealed in her interview with NW magazine, "My parents are pretty much the nannies! They are the best baby nurses you could pray for. They raised five kids so they know what they are doing."
The 28-year-old continued to reveal with the magazine that it was fortunate to have a job that she could run between work and baby but it was not easy for her. She said that sometimes, whenever she looks after James and she is laughing, it is difficult to do anything else. Lively and Reynolds might need more help since they are expecting their second bundle of joy, who is due to come out later this year.
More on being a mother to James, Lively said that it is difficult to get barfed on and pooped on but having a baby is "wonderful." She added, "Even when it's tough and I'm exhausted I think, "I am so fortunate," WJLA reported.
In another interview, Daily Mail reported that Lively also touched on the subject of women being pressured to get the perfect body back after pregnancy. Lively had to slim down in just eight months after giving birth to James as she had to film "The Shallows." She admitted that the speed of having to bounce back to her thin frame for the shooting of the movie in Australia was not normal for her.
She shared with The Sun while promoting "The Shallows" that she focused on training and eating well. She worked with two different trainers and a nutritionist because she had to look like what the movie demanded, which she regarded as "not normal to look like that eight months after having a kid."
In the movie "The Shallows," Lively is seen most of the time just wearing a bikini as her character tries to escape death as an enormous shark tries to kill her. She continued to say with The Sun, "I think a woman's body after having a baby is pretty amazing. You don't need to be Victoria's Secret ready right away because you just did the most incredible miracle that life has to offer."
