"Crazy Ex-Girlfriend" closed the previous season with Rebecca Bunch (Rachel Bloom) finally getting it on with Josh Chan (Vincent Rodriguez III). Her goal to win him and have him see her as girlfriend material has succeeded and creator Bloom said that the following season will become more "interestingly sexual."
Bloom hinted on what can happen in "Crazy Ex-Girlfriend" Season 2 while talking on the red carpet with E! Online. She shared that now that Rebecca has admitted her real reason for moving to West Covina to Josh, then "she's a little closer on the road to finding happiness."
However, Rachel Bloom also hinted that this search "may or may not include Josh Chan," suggesting that not everything between Rebecca and Josh could be a bed of roses after their first time together. This is rather expected, especially since Josh's previous relationship with Valencia (Gabriella Ruiz) ended just a few hours before he and Bex had sex on "Crazy Ex-Girlfriend."
Speaking of Valencia, although she did say goodbye to Josh, the character is staying put in the show as Gabriella Ruiz has been promoted to series regular on "Crazy Ex-Girlfriend" last March, per TV Line. Tension between the girls is expectedly going to heat up next season, but the actress is optimistic her character will learn to be friends with Rebecca despite their rivalry.
As for Greg (Santino Fontana), who has been on and off about dating Rebecca, it's still unclear whether he would be pursuing her back in "Crazy Ex-Girlfriend" Season 2. The writers point out that Greg is quite a complicated character who is "flawed and broken" just like Rebecca, per Vanity Fair. He might not be the best fit for her at this point, when Rebecca still has a long way to go with sorting out her personal issues.
"Crazy Ex-Girlfriend" Season 2 will begin airing on The CW this Friday, Oct. 21 at 9:00 p.m. The show is also available for subscription steaming via Netflix.
