'The Fall' Season 3 Air Date & News: Jamie Dornan Hints Potential S4, Reflects How Show Changed His Life

Could a fourth season of "The Fall" still happen? It has been declared by show creator Allan Cubitt that Season 3 will be its last offering. But if star Jamie Dornan could have it his way, he would be willing to be in the show until his "dying days." The Irish actor, who plays the serial murderer Paul Spector in the series, acknowledges how "The Fall" changed his life.

Speaking with the Associated Press, Jamie Dornan remarked that working on the set of "The Fall" has been a huge thing for him. "They're like family to me and I'm forever grateful for it to be a part of my life," said Dornan in the interview and reiterated that he would be willing to play Paul Spector untill his death, if given the opportunity.

While Jamie Dornan is mum on what will happen in "The Fall" Season 3, which is expected to premiere on the BBC this fall, he cautions viewers to "expect the unexpected." Last season, his character was cornered by the police, but Paul Spector was gunned down by one of his victim's relatives. The last shot of "The Fall" Season 2 showed him hanging for his life, while investigator Stella Gibson (Gillian Anderson) desperately tried to keep him alive.

Deadline reported back in January that "The Fall" Season 3 will immediately follow the events of the previous season amidst new cast additions, while Digital Spy reported that most of the cast have returned to reprise their roles. Fans speculate that Paul Spector will escape police custody in "The Fall" Season 3, thus the "cat and mouse" saga between Gibson and Spector will escalate further. There are hints that the main characters will not have any happy ending.

Meanwhile, Dornan's co-star on "The Fall," Bronagh Waugh, who plays his wife Sally Ann Spector, would love to be in the show's movie spinoff, should there be one. "Anything to do that Alan Cubitt does, I will sign up for straight away," she said, per Goss.

However, talks of a movie after "The Fall" Season 3 are still slim and non-existent at this point. The BBC series, which debuted on TV in 2013, is being carried on Netflix in the U.S. Stay tuned for more on "The Fall."
