DeMarcus Cousins remains to be one of the favorite names in the NBA trade rumors. The Sacramento Kings center has been associated with different teams and new reports suggest that he might land in Los Angeles Lakers.
According to the Bitbag, LA Lakers want to acquire DeMarcus Cousins that they are willing to trade their forward D'Angelo Russell. Although it is not surprising how many teams are chasing Boogie now, NBA fans should still take this report with a grain of salt as Lakers and Kings are still under negotiations.
Silver Screen and Roll reported that Sacramento Kings are into trade talks with Los Angeles Lakers involving D'Angelo Russell. The report did not name who the Kings is willing to trade just to sign Russell but reports are rife that the team is exchanging DeMarcus Cousins for the much younger player.
Per the report, D'Angelo Russell has the potential to be one of the very best point guards in the NBA league. Although the young player is not a superstar at the time, Lakers have drafted him second in the last year's NBA draft.
However, it is still surprising how the Lakers would trade D'Angelo Russell knowing that he is one of the best on its roster. In fact, Parent Herald previously reported that Luke Walton is hopeful to see Russell and Julius Randle leading the team for their next NBA title.
Perhaps, Sacramento Kings offer them a more valuable option to convince the team to give up D'Angelo Russell. Reports are rife that Kings is itching to trade DeMarcus Cousins that's why many believe that Lakers and Kings trade would involve the two players.
However, other sources claimed that Kings is also trading its small forward Rudy Gay. Gay has been vocal in his discontentment with his career in Sacramento. He wants stability and that he doesn't find in his current team. In fact, he cited LA Clippers Paul Pierce and Jamal Crawford's position as something that he also wants to experience in his career.
