Donald Trump Tried Crashing Chelsea Clinton's 2010 Wedding? How Ivanka Trump's 2009 Wedding Compares

Donald Trump apparently tried to crash the wedding of Chelsea Clinton to Marc Mezvinsky in 2010. This information has been detailed in an upcoming book release of "Man of the World: The Further Endeavors of Bill Clinton," which is written by Joe Conanson. But the entry on Trump as a wedding crasher is being highlighted by political pundits, perhaps in an attempt to discredit the presidential candidate's social graces.

Politico was first to report about the excerpt from the book. It stated that Donald Trump wanted to rub elbows with Chelsea Clinton's supposedly high profile wedding guests, like Oprah Winfrey and media mogul Ted Turner -- after reading gossip about the wedding in the papers.

But when no invite came, Donald Trump asked Doug Band, who worked in the White House at that time, where the wedding was going to be held. It suggested that Trump was planning to crash the wedding, but then he apparently gave up when he couldn't tap the right person for the details.

Page Six reports that later on, Donald Trump allegedly described Chelsea Clinton's wedding was "tacky" and "disgusting." While the excerpt on Donald Trump from the book cannot be verified, it has been put into focus because of the presidential candidate's heated election campaign against Chelsea's mom, Hillary Clinton.

As Trump and Clinton are vying for the top seat of the country, their daughters have been placed at the center of the rivalry as well. It did not escape political observers that a year earlier, Donald Trump's daughter, Ivanka Trump, also had her wedding to Jared Kushner. This latest controversy involving Donald Trump is bringing forth comparisons between the presidential daughters' weddings.

As Yahoo revealed, Chelsea Clinton had a $3 million wedding to Marc Mezvinsky in 2010, which was held at the The Astor Courts Estates. She wore two costly Vera Wang dresses for the rites and the reception. The wedding was witnessed by 400 people, who were served $750,000 worth of catered food from St. Regis. None of the high profile guests Trump thought would be there actually attended.

On the other hand, Ivanka Trump's wedding to Jared Kushner in 2009 had no clear public details as to the total cost. But the same Yahoo report stated that there had been an estimated 500 guests and Ivanka also wore a Vera Wang creation that cost $50,000. The wedding took place at one of Donald Trump's properties, suggesting the couple didn't have to pay for a venue and the food as it was all provided for by Trump's company.
