The rumors about DeMarcus Cousins were partly addressed recently by Celtics Beat Podcast Executive Producer and Celtics director of player personnel, Larry H. Russell that they are aggressive about looking for a third player to complete their big three in order to compete better in the upcoming 2016-2017 NBA season. Other reports have surfaced saying that Sacramento Kings is now listening to Boston Celtics, Los Angeles Lakers, and Chicago Bulls regarding their offers to acquire Cousins.
One of the most mentioned players linked to Boston Celtics during this offseason is Sacramento Kings' Cousins. Russell pointed out that Boston Celtics has been aggressive when it came to trade talks but it really depends on the price if they are to acquire someone from another team. He added that they are trying to make the best decisions that they can make, Sportsrageous reported.
Russell added, "It's hard to improve via trade on the guys we have. You can't just go pick up guys better than Isaiah Thomas, Avery Bradley, Marcus Smart, Jae Crowder - they usually aren't available. We feel good about our players."
As for Sacramento Kings, initially, they reportedly did not want to trade Cousins but new reports are saying that the NBA team is now listening to the offers for the star player. This comes after many reports have said that Cousins is a hot name on the trading block due to his performance at the Rio Olympics with the Team USA, Yibada reported.
There are other reports saying that the Sacramento Kings is frustrated with Cousins as he does not get along well with coaches. He also is very outspoken and often times question the roster decisions of Sacramento Kings.
As of now, the NBA teams linked to Cousins regarding a possible trade during this offseason are Boston Celtics, Chicago Bulls, and Los Angeles Lakers. Chicago Bulls could reportedly give up Nicola Mirotic, Bobby Portis, and Denzel Valentine. Los Angeles Lakers, on the other hand, could give up D'Angelo Russell, Julius Randle, or Larry Nance.
