Former "Friends" superstar Matt LeBlanc is heading back to multi-camera comedy via his new show, "Man with a Plan." Set to premiere on CBS this Monday, Oct. 24, the series is the latest parenting comedy that's about to hit broadcast television.
What is "Man with a Plan" all about? Who joins the cast aside from Matt LeBlanc? Learn about the show in the roundup below.
"Man with a Plan" is about a dad, Adam Burns (Matt LeBlanc), who agrees to become the house-husband when his wife, Andi Burns (Liza Snyder), decides to go back to work. Andi has been a stay-at-home mother for the last 13 years, but Adam believes at first that the switch in roles will not be a difficult one.
The Burns have three kids - Kate (Grace Kaufman), Emme (Hala Finley) and Teddy (Matthew McCann) -- who still need parental guidance and coaxing. "Man with a Plan" tackles how Adam learns to deal with his children's issues, as well as handle his wife's angst and stress. In the process, Adam discovers the real challenges of being a stay-at-home parent. How did his wife do it for 13 years?
"Man with a Plan" was confirmed in CBS' new TV slate back in May, per Deadline. Matt LeBlanc said that he wanted to do a parenting comedy this time around, after doing "Friends" and "Episodes" because he is a father in real life. "I wanted to explore what that would be like as a character," the actor said per USA Today.
Initially, Liza Snyder didn't play his wife when the series shot the pilot episode. According to the show's executive producer, Andi was re-cast due to "chemistry issues," per TV Guide. "These guys together don't seem like anything other that two people who are best friends who love each other," said EP Jeff Filgo.
Joining Matt LeBlanc and Liza Snyder are Matt Cook, Kevin Nealon and Jessica Chaffin in supporting parts. Catch "Man with a Plan" this fall on CBS. Watch Matt LeBlanc and the rest of the cast talk about the show in the video below.
