'Lucifer' Season 2 News & Update: Why Tom Ellis Thinks Lucifer-Chloe Won't Likely Get On Yet

Apart from the family dynamics on "Lucifer," the show also tackles an underlying story on the mystery of why Chloe Decker (Lauren German) makes the devil vulnerable. "Lucifer" star Tom Ellis recently discussed what he thinks of this relationship and why he's not up for his character and Chloe to get it on just yet.

Speaking with TV Insider, Tom Ellis said that he really loves working with Lauran German side by side and appreciates how viewers can see their chemistry on the small screen. He describes the relationship between Lucifer and Chloe as somewhat akin to a "fairy-tale feeling."

However, while there are fans rooting for Lucifer-Chloe, Tom Ellis thinks it's not yet the right time to bring the two characters together, romantically. "If you get these characters together, that's the end of your show," he said in the interview.

The actor also dished that there could more singing on "Lucifer" in the upcoming season. Tom Ellis said that he's hoping the writers will allow him to do more of this, if only to show the fun and comfortable side of his character. Viewers might recall that in "Lucifer" Season 1, Tom Ellis sang a few bars and played the piano in one episode. Watch this in the video below.

Meanwhile, "Lucifer" Season 2 on Fox is set for 13 episodes just like last season. It's still unclear whether there's a possibility that more episodes might be added, according to the writers of the show via Twitter.

"Lucifer" Season 2 will also be exploring Maze's (Lesley-Ann Brandt) backstory. She apparently doesn't have a good relationship with Lucifer's mom, Charlotte (Tricia Helfer), and this rift will spill over when they cross paths on Earth again, per TV Line.

"Lucifer" Season 2 will begin airing on Fox on Monday, Sept. 19. The show also stars D.B. Woodside, Kevin Alejandro and Rachael Harris. Aimee Garcia is the newest cast member who will be introduced in the upcoming season.
