John Krasinski is definitely locked and loaded for "Jack Ryan." The actor teased that his new TV show, which will come to Amazon's streaming service, is going to have a movie budget to fit its movie quality production.
In an interview with Collider, John Krasinski related how "Jack Ryan" executive producer Carlton Cuse intends the show to become somewhat like a 10-hour movie on the small screen. "They're calling it a movie that's being told in 10 parts," the actor said. "Jack Ryan" will also have action sequences and stunts that viewers could expect from a movie, except the whole thing will play out in weekly episodes.
Amazon has recently greenlit "Jack Ryan," with production scheduled to begin in January, per The Wrap. John Krasinski hints that the first season will deal with the ISIS and will likely take him on different set locations around the globe. There is still no word on when the show will begin streaming on Amazon Prime just yet.
John Krasinski's take on the character, Jack Ryan, will be different from all the other stars who have already played the character in the movies, such as Harrison Ford, Alec Baldwin, Chris Pine and Ben Affleck. Per a previous Parent Herald report, "Jack Ryan" on Amazon will be a funnier character, aside from being an intelligent CIA analyst.
"Jack Ryan" is based off the novels written by Tom Clancy. Early reports say that producers first wanted to adapt "Clear and Present Danger" for TV, before deciding to take "Jack Ryan" on a new and updated scale. The elements that made the iconic character a beloved fictional presence in books and movies will still be in the TV show. But Cuse and the writers will include a few other things to make "Jack Ryan" relatable to today's audience.
