Google has finally rolled out the newest version of Android operating system, called Android 7.0 Nougat. Even so, it may take time for most of the devices to receive the latest version of the software, but there is a way to download and install it fast. But is your phone even scheduled to get Android Nougat?
As normal, Nexus devices are the first ones to receive the latest version of Android OS. But not all models are set to be updated. If you're using Google Nexus 6, Google Nexus 5X, Google Nexus 6P, Google Nexus 9, Google Nexus Player, Google Pixel C, and General Mobile 4G (Android One), then you are meant to have Android Nougat, Digital Trends reported. Update for these devices should already be available by now.
Known for the slow roll out of Android OS update, owners of the following Samsung devices would have to expect Nougat by December or January: Samsung Galaxy S6, Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge, Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge Plus, Samsung Galaxy S7, Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge, Samsung Galaxy Note 5, Samsung Galaxy S7 Active, Samsung Galaxy Note 7, and Samsung Galaxy J3. Meanwhile, LG G5, LG V10, LG G4, and LG V20, as well as HTC 10, HTC One A9, and HTC One M9, are also set to be equipped with Android Nougat.
If waiting for the over-the-air update isn't for you, The Verge has shared how to install Android 7.0 Nougat now and enjoy its features before most people. This entails signing up for the Android Beta Program, where you can enroll your device and participate in beta testing of new updates. Wait up to 24 hours for the update to be sent to you, but lucky for some, this may also take just a few seconds after you've signed up and accepted the terms.
