Another day has passed and it seems like there are more rumors being spun for "The Last of Us 2," the followup to Naughty Dog's critically acclaimed zombie survival game, "The Last of Us." While some of the rumors may seem far fetched, there are others that seem pretty legitimate, including one about the possibility of a 19 year old Ellie in the sequel.
Everybody knows about the dramatic ending of "The Last of Us," where Joel breaks Ellie out of the hospital that looked to extract a cure from her brain, therefore killing her, leaving the show in a bit of a cliffhanger and perfect for a sequel. Now, there have been new rumors regarding the new sequel. One of them is the 19 year old Ellie that could take the lead as the new lead protagonist in "The Last of Us 2."
YouTuber JoeDoeFoe recently uploaded a video about an unknown magazine that featured information for "The Last of Us 2," including screenshots of a matured 19-year old Ellie along with ruined cities, and more in-game places and objects. Though JoeFoeDoe was only able to show one page of the magazine article, citing that there were no other sources, save for a few French websites. The article also included an interview with Naughty Dog, with developers revealing that "The Last of Us 2" will take place (and will be released) 5 years after the original, and that the characters themselves have aged as well in that time.
Also in the magazine article, it was revealed that "The Last of Us 2" will be more of an open world game, and will reveal more about Ellie and her maturity over the years. It also mentioned that the new game will be available for the Playstation 4 Neo for better 4K resolution.
Other plot theories for "The Last of Us 2" according to Inquisitr include a grown up and pregnant Ellie, which was from an Easter Egg from Naughty Dog's other major release "Uncharted 4," and the sequel would be called "The Last of Us: American Daughter."
If the mysterious magazine article from JoeDoeFoe's YouTube video does indeed deem true, then "The Last of Us 2" could be expected in 2018.
