NBA News: Spurs To Sign Another Player From Argentina, Nicolas Laprovittola; Manu Ginobili Helping To Recrutit

The San Antonio Spurs are reportedly trying to add a new member that can help them in their championship campaign this coming season. The Spurs are targeting Nicolas Laprovittola, another international player from Argentina.

According to Marc Stein of ESPN, the San Antonio Spurs are eyeing to sign Nicolas Laprovittola who was part of the Argentina Men's Basketball team that played in the recent Rio Olympics. Nicolas Laprovittola showcased his talents playing with some of the current NBA stars such as Manu Ginobili and Luis Scola.

It is not surprising that Spurs is not the only team in pursuit of Nicolas Laprovittola, due to the fact that he is not just a scorer, he is also a premier playmaker as the Project Spurs reported. Nicolas Laprovittola averaged 8.2 points and 2.7 assists per game in the Rio Olympics in 6 games.

Nicolas Laprovittola played for Movistar Estudiantes in the Spanish CBA last season with an average of 13.8 points, 4.4 assists and 1.6 steals per game. Nicolas Laprovittola can crush the defense at the driving lane and can pass the ball with his good passing IQ. In his last season, Nicolas Laprovittola thrilled the fans with his deadly shooting ability above the 3-point arc.

As per CBS Sports, the San Antonio Spurs is still looking for a member new though they have 20 players listed on their roster. The Spurs might be planning something that can create an open slot for Nicolas Laprovittola for him to play at Spurs' basketball camp.

If Nicolas Laprovittola would end up playing for the Spurs this coming season in the official NBA games, Laprovittola would be a big help. Being a legitimate point guard at 6'4", Nicolas Laprovittola can play the shooting guard position occasionally which would give the Spurs a consistent stretch whenever Coach Gregg Popovich opts to a small lineup.

Nicolas Laprovittola could possibly land to the San Antonio Spurs. With Manu Ginobili on their side, recruitment would be very for Spurs to sign another player from Argentina.
