The Milwaukee Bucks have recently announced that they are bringing back NBA veteran Steve Novak, after signing him from free agency. Novak, who signed with the Bucks earlier in February, played only three games due to an injury to his left knee.
NBA veteran Steve Novak has played in the NBA since 2006, after being drafted by the Houston Rockets. Novak has since bounced around the league, not being able to play for a single team for more than a couple of seasons during his career. Novak was also sent back to the NBA's development league during his time. In the 2015-2016, the Marquette alumni played for the Oklahoma City Thunder until February where he was traded to Denver, then later waived off, then picked up by the Bucks.
With the Milwaukee Bucks, Novak played only three games before going out for the season due to a severe injury to his left knee. Coming back to the Bucks, the 33-year old Novak will look to come off the bench and provide for the team as a second spark, along with some veteran insight. His three point shooting will without a doubt be his most valued attribute, as his range will be a much needed boost for the Bucks who finished last in the league in 3 point field goals taken and made, according to the Journal Sentinel.
According to Fox Sports, Novak has started 6 times in his 459 career games in the NBA while averaging 4.7 points, 1.3 rebounds, and a 3 point percentage of 43.1 percent. With that much experience under his belt, he will look to play the role of veteran leader, along with Jason Terry for the much younger core of the Milwaukee Bucks.
Novak was seen hard at work during the Bucks' pre-season workout, determined to finish the season this time around.
