HTC Announces Release of Android Nougat for HTC 10, One A9, M9, and M8 Smartphones

Taiwanese technology giant, HTC, has recently announced the release of the new Android Nougat software for their latest line of smartphones. The HTC's HTC10, One A9, M9, and M8 will all be running on the new Nougat.

HTC is one of the world's leading brands in smartphones, that boasts powerful devices for their users, with software updates being released as often as they could. Now, the leading line of smartphones from HTC will soon have a major upgrade, as it will be powered by Android's all new operating system, the Nougat.

The Nashville Chatter says that HTC has an on-going policy that older smartphones, no longer get the latest software updates. This gives the impression that HTC might not provide users of the M8 an opportunity to update to the Android Nougat, and instead, it will continue to run on the currently used Marshmallow 6.0.

The features for the new Android Nougat include over 1500 emojis with 72 new ones, and an all new multi-view window, which allows you to have to apps running side-by-side, quick switching between apps. Vulkan API will also be featured on the new software with high-performance graphics. Lastly, the Nougat will also feature a "Virtual Reality" mode for Daydream-ready smartphones in the new update, according to the Android website.

The new Android Nougat feels like a cherry on top of the Marshmallow 6.0, instead of a major upgrade dessert, says CNET, who recently gave the software a review. The review states that the Nougat offers a very functional, and exciting update.

Google has recently launched the Android Nougat on August 22nd, and now runs on the Google Nexus phones, but other smartphone brands have not yet received the update. Likewise, HTC also does not have a release date yet for the Nougat to run on their own line of smartphones, but is expected to come in the latter part of 2016, with multiple rumors suggesting a release in December.
