The search for the new James Bond after Daniel Craig is heating up, as a list of possible actors is making rounds online to take over the iconic agent 007 role. While popular actors on the list include Idris Elba, Tom Hiddleston, Theo James and Michael Fassbender, a recent tweet suggests that "Outlander" star, Sam Heughan, is also a popular choice for the role.
"Outlander" Season 3 actor Sam Heughan is reportedly one of the highly coveted stars to be the next James Bond actor after Daniel Craig. Fans of the Starz time traveler series believe that the 36-year-old Scottish actor deserves to be chosen as the next agent 007 because of his wonderful performance playing the role of Jamie Fraser.
Heughan even played along when singer/songwriter Dave Mustaine tweeted that the next Bond should be the "Outlander" star. Mustaine said that Heughan is the "best Bond" and he would even be willing to lend his Aston Martin.
While many fans are already excited to know who would be the next James Bond actor, a report from Radar Online suggests that Sony execs and producers of the popular franchise are not looking for a new actor. According to the publication, the company offered Daniel Craig a $150 million contract to star in two more Bond movies.
As most fans can recall, rumors about a new James Bond actor emerged after Craig announced that he would rather slash his wrists than do another Bond movie. However, it looks like Sony and the producers of the film are not yet ready to let him go and would require a longer time to look for a new actor to play the most coveted role.
