The return of "Blindspot" is just days away. Season 2 is scheduled to begin on Wednesday, Sept. 14 at 10 p.m. on NBC and the producers have said in previous interviews that Jane Doe's real name will finally be revealed in the very first episode back. However, producers also released clues into cracking Jane Doe's name. Could her name be Alice Kruger?
The puzzle clues to Jane Doe's real name in "Blindspot" Season 2 was shared on Entertainment Weekly. It was created by David Kwong, who comes up with the crossword puzzles for the New York Times and serves as an advisor to "Blindspot." Some fans tried their hand at solving the puzzle, which eventually led to the name "Alice Kruger."
Per Cinema Blend, Jane Doe's real name on "Blindspot" might not have any big significance and this shouldn't really matter. "Blindspot" Season 2 is going to focus beyond her name anyway and they will move beyond Jane's identity immediately. However, her past will still tie to the team's new objectives.
As showrunner Martin Gero confirmed via an interview with Hidden Remote, exploring Jane's past will not happen with each and every episode of "Blindspot" Season 2. "We're going to expand it as the year goes on," said Gero. There will still be flashbacks to bring "a huge piece of information," and he expressed excitement about how this will be incorporated in the show.
Meanwhile, Jaimie Alexander (Jane Doe) shared a new "Blindspot" teaser on her Instagram that highlights the strengths of the girls on the show: Jane, Zapata (Audrey Esparza) & Patterson (Ashley Johnson). It will be interesting to see how the ladies will work together again in "Blindspot" Season 2, knowing that they have been keeping secrets from each other and Jane has betrayed them. Reports say that the girls will have that opportunity to team up in the second episode of the new season. Will they be able to work well?
Catch the Season 2 premiere of "Blindspot" on Wednesday, Sept. 14 at 10 p.m. The week following, the show will be moving to the 8 p.m. slot, also on Wednesdays.
