"The Vampire Diaries" actress opens up about taking on a new career. Speculations have been ongoing that she will reprise her role as Elena for "The Vampire Diaries" season 8 which would be the show's last season.

During her interview with Self website, Nina Dobrev stated that she no longer wants to be part of "The Vampire Diaries" season 8 as she's done with acting. Dobrev did admit that her role as Elena helped her grow not just as an actress, but as a person. Nina Dobrev also opened up about her future plans when it comes to her career. "The Vampire Diaries" actress then shared that she wanted to be a screenwriter.

"I feel like I'm a completely different person than I was and I've grown so much," Nina Dobrev stated during her interview with Self magazine. "It's been a big part of my life, and I want it to be beautiful. I want it to end well... I've loved working on this show. It's been such a crazy, awesome adventure, and I've been surrounded by so many people who I consider family. I know this is a new exciting step in the right direction for me, but it's going to be so strange not to be with them."

Nina Dobrev opened up about her role as Elena for "The Vampire Diaries." She told Interview that despite the fact that she loves her role, she needs to step up when it comes to her career. Nina Dobrev then explained that she "The Vampire Diaries" may be a stepping stone for her, but it is time to leave the series and move forward to a new career.
