"The Vampire Diaries" season 8 will be the last, but the show runners made sure that fans will get to see a well-deserved ending. One of the best treats that fans will get to experience is Nina Dobrev's return, and speculations emerged that fans will get to see a flash forward of the finale.
One of the best things that fans could look forward to is the fact that Nina Dobrev can potentially go back by the end of the season. E! Online reports that Nina Dobrev is already in talks for her return, which means that Elena could potentially finish her story.
The Mark Pedowitz then stated that he and the team would love to have Nina Dobrev back on the show for its finale. During an interview, he then mentioned that he and the rest of the show runners supported Julie Pleck's decision.
"We collectively came to the same place," the network boss, Mark Pedowitz stated during an interview with the reporters. "We backed Julie Plec in her decision...there are discussions going on with Nina, we'd love to have her back...These are discussions that go on, hopefully, she'll be back, but should it not work out, Julie has planned out a great series finale for fans."
He then added that as much as he wants to have Nina Dobrev back on the 8th season of "The Vampire Diaries" they are still waiting for her decision. The team has already come up with a backup plan in case Nina Dobrev won't be returning for the season finale. Though it might be a bit disappointing for fans that have been following the season, but Pedowitz assured viewers that Julie Plec has already prepared something for the last season.
Another character would be making a comeback as well, but Design & Style reported that fans aren't happy with it. Sarah Salvatore who is portrayed by Tristin Mays is said to make a comeback but fans dished out their disappointment on twitter.
