'Iron Man 4' Tony Stark Death Imminent; Solution to Robert Downey Jr.'s Refusal to Have Fourth Installment?

Word on the street is that "Iron Man 4" could possibly not see the light of day. Rumors are rife that Marvel is not keen on making another Tony Stark headliner starring actor Robert Downey Jr.

There have been many rumors as to why "Iron Man 4" will not be green lit. New reports are now suggesting that Marvel is thinking twice if getting RDJ to star in another standalone movie is actually a financially sound decision. Rumor has it that RDJ's price tag is now just too expensive for the studio.

As Vine Report noted, RDJ reportedly declined to star in a possible "Iron Man 4" because Marvel has not agreed to pay the sum he wanted. Often regarded as the pillar of the MCU, RDJ is undeniably the highest paid actor on Marvel's roster. Whether these rumors are true or not, fans can still expect to see RDJ when he reprises his role as Tony Stark in "Avengers: Infinity War" and "Spider-Man: Homecoming."

Previous reports have already speculated that should "Iron Man 4" get the green light, a new actor/actress will play the person behind the Iron Man suit. In the comic book realm, Tony Stark has already passed the baton to a younger successor. Speculations are rife that new heroine Riri Williams could also be the new frontrunner in the fourth installment of "Iron Man."

Other rumors hint that Tony Stark might actually meet his end in "Spider-Man: Homecoming," Chattsportsnet noted. This has spurred more rumors that an "Iron Man 4" without RDJ could actually be a possibility.
