"Stranger Things" Season 2 from Netflix will be a darker series from S1 of Eleven (Millie Bobby Brown) and Barb(Shannon Purser) fame. Despite certain return by Joyce Byers (Winona Ryder), Mike (Finn Wolfhard), Will Byers (Noah Schnapp), Dustin (Gaten Matarazzo) among others, "Stranger Things" Season 2 will take the Netflix series into a far different journey and outside the Upside Down.
While Matt and Ross Duffer confirmed that Barb is definitely gone with no hope of coming back to the Netflix series, Eleven is left as a surprise for "Stranger Things" Season 2. Even Millie Bobby Brown does not know if Matt and Ross Duffer are bringing Eleven back to the Netflix series as the Mirror reports.
Millie Bobby Brown reportedly draws a blank whenever she asks Matt and Ross Duffer about Eleven in "Stranger Things" Season 2. Quite graciously, however, Millie Bobby Brown assures fans of the Netfllix series that "Stranger Things" Season 2 will be an amazing watch even without Eleven.
Millie Bobby Brown seems right as "Stranger Things" Season 2 will follow the success of Eleven and co-stars of S1 with concepts that won out during careful deliberation. In a conversation with Entertainment Weekly Ross Duffer revealed that turning the Netflix series into an anthology was never a consideration for "Stranger Things."
However, the Duffer brothers did consider taking "Stranger Things" Season 2 into a decade time jump. This would have meant an entirely different casting especially for Will Byers, Mike Wheeler, Dustin Henderson, Lucas Sinclair and Jane "Eleven" Ives come "Stranger Things" Season 2.
Luckily, the voice of reason won out and the Duffer brothers will keep "Stranger Things" Season 2 in 1984. This places "Stranger Things" Season 2 a full year after Eleven supposedly annihilated the Demogorgon and Will Byers was "rescued."
Despite the uncertainty of Eleven in the new storyline, the Duffer brothers will bring in four new characters to "Stranger Things" Season 2. Entertainment Weekly points to "Lost Brother" from the recent "Stranger Things" Season 2 teaser as a possible clue to one of the new Netflix characters.
Matt Duffer assures fans of the Netflix series that "Stranger Things" Season 2 will not feel samey to S1. According to Matt Duffer, "Stranger Things" Season 2 takes inspiration from work by James Cameron as "Terminator" and "Aliens," which sequels felt different and yet retained the essence of the original.
Although "Stranger Things" Season 2 will see episodes of the Netflix series go outside of Hawkins, Indiana, the story will take the viewers back into the Upside Down to explore what the portal holds. Eleven had eliminated the monster in "Stranger Things" Season 1, and now the Duffer brothers will explore if other creatures lurk in the Upside Down.
Netflix is anticipated to release "Stranger Things" Season 2 in 2017 without Barb, possibly with Eleven, and certainly with four cast addition to watch out for in a darker journey to the Upside Down. What do you hope to see the Duffer brothers bring in with "Stranger Things" Season 2?
