A new promo officially released for "Jane the Virgin" hints of a "tragic ending" for one character and on top of that, it also looks like the show might finally change its title very soon. According to "Jane the Virgin" showrunner, Jennie Snyder Urman, the first half of the season is going to be filled with all these changes. Can fans handle it?
The first teaser from "Jane the Virgin" Season 3 highlights Michael's (Brett Dier) fate last season. It's not encouraging for fans to know that the teaser has been entitled as "Magical Beginnings, Tragic Endings," where Michael's images of being shot and hospitalized, along with Jane's (Gina Rodriguez) worried face, are flashed.
However, despite the teaser suggesting "Jane the Virgin" Season 3 will open with an "unforgettable season premiere event," there are still plenty to look forward to. For one thing, Gina Rodriguez just recently posted a photo of herself with Brett Dier on the set on her Instagram. It doesn't look like Michael is going anywhere, but then again even Rodriguez isn't certain, based on the photo's caption.
Meanwhile, executive producer Jennie Snyder Urman confirmed that Jane will definitely experience sex for the first time in the season's first half, per Vulture. The only thing that remains uncertain is -- who is she going to give up her virginity to in "Jane the Virgin" Season 3?
The most logical choice would be that Jane loses her virginity to Michael, her husband on the show. But since it's still unclear whether he heals from his gunshot wounds, the second most logical choice would be Rafael (Justin Baldoni), the father of Jane's son via artificial insemination in the earlier season of "Jane the Virgin."
However, a report from TV Line reveals that Jane will encounter a former romantic interest in "Jane the Virgin" Season 3. Jane was attracted to Sam (Miles Gaston Villanueva) long before she had Michael and Rafael in her life. Fans speculate that this character might be the third likely person Jane would have sex with.
Fans will have at least a month to find out what's really going on as "Jane the Virgin" premieres Season 3 on Monday, Oct. 17 at 9:00 p.m. Catch the show on The CW and watch the show's past season on Netflix as well.
