'GTA 6' Release Date, News & Update: ‘Grand Theft Auto’ Sequel By Rockstar Projected More Lucrative For Take Two Interactive?

Although speculations linked "GTA 6" availability to the continued financial success by Take Two Interactive from "Grand Theft Auto 5" and "GTA Online," the new Rockstar offering may actually provide higher sales rate.

Tech News Today highlights how the 2016 financial report by Take Two Interactive reflects Rockstar's "Grand Theft Auto" as the biggest contributor for the parent company's success in the recent financial year. The media outlet highlights "GTA" success citing that the "Grand Theft Auto" franchise composed 54.5% of the net income of Take Two Interactive for the recently concluded financial year.

Although success of "Grand Theft Auto 5" and of "GTA Online" seem phenomenal, the media outlet further points outs that income from "GTA 4" was not too far behind Take Two Interactive earnings from the latest Rockstar offerings. Talking figures, Tech News Today reports that sales from "GTA 4" gave Take Two Interactive 46.2% of its net revenue in 2008.

The media outlet projects that Take Two Interactive can expect increase in income from "GTA 6" based on historical financial success of the "Grand Theft Auto" franchise. This projection seemingly has basis, especially given that Rockstar is expected to bring in big changes to "GTA 6" including the new "Grand Theft Auto" map and new Rockstar game protagonists.

According to "GTA 6" buzz, Rockstar could very well give the new "Grand Theft Auto" iteration an overseas map, particularly a London map. Projections also say that the time is ripe for Rockstar to give "GTA 6" a female lead, which could see the new "Grand Theft Auto" with Eva Mendes as protagonist and Ryan Gosling as her male counterpart.

If "GTA 6" however stays Stateside, a US map in San Diego or similar location would rival the most recent "Grand Theft Auto" map in size. Whether staying domestic or going international, Rockstar is spoilt for choice with "GTA 6" map options.

According to popular calculations, Rockstar could release "GTA 6" in 2018 at the earliest and 2020 at the latest, that is unless "Red Dead Redemption 3" makes its appearance, in which case all bets are off. Do you think "GTA 6" could outsell "Grand Theft Auto 5?"
