"Marco Polo" Season 3 from Netflix and creator John Fusco follows an expensive S2 where Lorenzo Richemy (Marco) and Benedict Wong (Kublai Khan) rallied the Mongols and the series into a strong following. Would "Marco Polo" Season 3 similarly spare no expense to captivate existing and new fans for the Netflix original?
Joan Chen, who plays Empress Chabi in the Netflix series, spoke with Northwest Asian Weekly on her experience as a "Marco Polo" actress. Although Netflix has yet to commit to "Marco Polo" Season 3, Joan Chen revealed that she is eager to resume getting into her Empress Chabi skin.
Joan Chen's enthusiasm for "Marco Polo" Season 3 is unsurprising. To date John Fusco has managed to develop the "Marco Polo" series into a massive success.
Northwest Asian Weekly notes that "Marco Polo" from Netflix is known as one of the most expensive television series in existence. The media outlet cites Parrott Analytics in stating that "Marco Polo" ranks as the second most-watched among original television series.
For "Marco Polo" Season 3, co-leads Lorenzo Richemy and Benedict Wong will bring their characters Marco and Kublai Khan respectively, against a new enemy as Parent Herald cites. As teased during the "Marco Polo" Season 2 finale, Kublai Khan and Marco will face "The Hand Of God," otherwise known in historical accounts as Prester John.
"Marco Polo" Season 3 will not be without a tinge of mystery as Prester John seems to possess a strange power that enables him to wipeout his enemies fully and stealthily. To say that Kublai Khan and Marco Polo will yet face the biggest challenge to the Mongol Empire in Season 3 would not be an exaggeration.
Should Netflix sign off a "Marco Polo" Season 3, the historical series is expected to be released in 2017. What do you hope to see in "Marco Polo" Season 3?
