Pandora will soon make its debut and the music app is ready to take on the music streaming industry as it already made agreements with several major music catalogs. Pandora is said to be patterned as that of Spotify, but it was noted that the music app will be able to provide music lovers the on-demand feature that they are aching to get.
CNet announced that Pandora already confirmed that the music app made agreements with Universal Music Group, Sony Music Entertainment, Merlin Network, and a handful of independent music labels. Tim Westgren, Pandora's CEO and co-founder will soon make it big as the music app will soon launch in the following months.
"This was a truly collaborative attempt to find a solution that would support artists while profitably growing our respective businesses," Tim Westergren, stated.
Pandora got some of the music fans psyched as they hoped for the music app to make it big. Though major music catalogs were already able to make agreements with Pandora, one of the biggest music catalogs has yet to make an announcement that they will merge with the new app.
Warner Music Group remains mum in regards to Pandora's announcement as one of the largest record label. It was mentioned that Warner and Pandora will soon pave way for negotiations as Pandora would need to offer music fans a wide array of music selection.
As of this date, Pandora currently has a total of 78.1 million subscribers as of June, 2016. The music app also released a paid subscription of the app as that of Spotify. Subscribers can remove the advertisements and enjoy add free music streaming in the amount of $5.
"We're no stranger to competition. We've been here before and very confident about our ability to execute," Westerngren told CNBC". Listeners are very engaged, they've been thumbing on Pandora giving us an enormous amount of very precise information about their preferences."
