Selena Gomez is currently taking the heat after announcing that she will be going on a hiatus. Though taking a break may be good for her overall health, Selena was slammed after her break was rumored to be linked with her drug addiction. With rehabilitation speculations making rounds, Selena Gomez's best friend, Charlie Puth came to her defense stating that it is health to actually take a break.
Selena Gomez canceled her tour and even her appearance for The Golden Citizen Festival and was replaced by one of her close friends, Demi Lovato. Fans were bummed by her tour cancellation announcement, yet most of them wished her best on her recovery.
One of her friends that took her side was "One Call Away" singer Charlie Puth. On one of his most recent interviews, Charlie Puth stated that it was a good decision for Selena to take a break from the limelight. He then added that he himself takes a break once in a while to clear his mind according to Hollywood Life.
"I think it's a good idea to take a break from the spotlight," Charlie stated on the interview. "Like, for me today, I'm not even going to look at social media. Ten years ago, we didn't look at all that stuff all the time. You start to realize how observant you are."
Despite Selena Gomez's much-needed health break, a source told Radar Online that Selena is just using her Lupus to shy away from her drug addiction as she was reportedly hooked on Xanax and other anti-depressants as mentioned by Parent Herald.
"It is terrible that she has Lupus but she is using this as an excuse for everything lately and the truth is that she is just a mess right now," the source told Radar Online. "She has been feeling completely alone lately. Everyone close to her is worried because she seems to be back to old behavior."
