"Bloodline" fans were left with the cliffhanger last season which got them anxious as the series might not be renewed. Viewers were then able to get a surprising update as it was announced that "Bloodline" will be renewed for its third season.
Netflix recently confirmed that "Bloodline" will be back by next year. Though the news may have kept the viewers ecstatic, it was then announced that "Bloodline" will only stay with Netflix until their third season, which means that their return for 2017 could potentially be their last as reported by The Hollywood Reporter.
"Todd, Daniel, and Glenn have created a riveting family saga featuring one of the most talented ensembles in the history of television," Cindy Holland, Netflix VP said in a statement published by Game Spot. "We can't wait to see what the next chapter holds for the all-too-human Rayburns."
"Bloodline's" return will also be a lot shorter compared to its first and second seasons. It was revealed that the third season would have fewer chapters, thus it would be aired in shorter span as licensing fees were cut off for the show's third season.
It hinted that possible cancellations after the third season are highly possible as "Bloodline" failed to impress critics and viewers alike. These cancellations, however, are solely aimed towards Netflix as two shows were already canceled by the streaming app.
The series creators Todd Kessler, Glenn Kessler, and Daniel Zelman have already confirmed that they have prepared a total of five or six reasons in preparation for "Bloodline's" screen time. It was then mentioned that "Bloodline" would possible air in other stations except for Netflix.
As for the rest of the cast, Hollywood Reporter stated that Chandler, Sissy Spacek, Ben Mendelsohn, Linda Cardellini, and Norbert Leo Butz will be making a comeback for "Bloodline" season three. There are no updates yet as to when the next season would premier but it was confirmed that it will be up next year.
