Apple's innovative technology has brought iPhone 7 and Watch Series 2 a resisting power under waters. Users can experiment it confidently, as both the gadgets have different types of water protection.
The iPhone 7 is rated IP67, meaning the phone is built to tolerate waters when submerged at a depth of 1 meter for 30 minutes. Apple claims that it will survive a splash or an accidental drop in some shallow water. However, Apple advises not to swim with it.
According to The Wall Street Journal, Apple clearly states: "Liquid damage not covered under warranty." Translation: If something goes wrong, you're on your own. The possible exception is if you have AppleCare+, which covers liquid damage that results from "an unexpected and unintentional external event...that arises from your normal daily usage."
The Apple Watch Series 2 has more resistance to water staying up to 50 meters and can be accompanied while swimming if the swimmers like to risk it. Swimmers can track the distance they swam and the calories they burnt.
However, both the Apple devices - iPhone 7 and Watch Series 2 should not be plugged until they are dried for four to five hours to avoid risks. Apple warns that the Series 2 should not be used for scuba, water skiing and other high-velocity water activities.
Millions of Apple fans can watch these amazing videos and try to experiment their gadgets in water (under their own risk). The first video shows the phone being submerged in a glass of water and in hot coffee, while the second depicts the test in the ocean.
