One of the games that has been making a lot of noise as of late is "Little Nightmares," an upcoming 3D platform game developed by Swedish developers, Tarsier Studios. The game has been making quite the buzz for being visually stunning and downright creepy.
"Little Nightmares" the new platformer developed by Tarsier Studios, the same team behind Playstation favorites, "Little Big Planet" and "Tearaway Unfolded," is now one of the most anticipated games of it's genre for 2017.
The game revolves around a tiny girl whose face is covered by the hood of her yellow raincoat, named Six, as she makes her way out of the vast ship called the "Maw." Not only is the ship itself massive, but also all of the things aboard it, dwarfing Six, according to Polygon. "Little Nightmares," like most platform games, lets players solve puzzles, avoid enemies by hiding, and makes use of the environment to sneak past certain dangers they encounter as they progress throughout the game.
In a 10 minute demo released by the developers, Six is seen sneaking past a creepy looking chef, using her the environment to distract and sneak past around him. Senior narrative designer of "Little Nightmares," Dave Mervik, says that they didn't want to give Six any superhuman powers, and instead, just have her use a handful of abilities and focus on them, while attempting to escape the Maw.
Prior to its release, "Little Nightmares" was already nominated for Best Indie Game, according to a report from Game Skinny. The gaming website also mentioned that while not much of the game's plot has been revealed, players will be put up against their childhood fears.
"Little Nightmares" will be released in the Spring of 2017, and it will be available for the Playstation 4, Xbox One, and Microsoft Windows. The game will be published by Bandai Namco.
