Entertainment Weekly cites "The Walking Dead" lore creator Robert Kirkman in explaining that AMC's "TWD" series is expanding into a bigger world. Whereas "The Walking Dead" series mainly followed Rick Grimes and his group encountering the occasional bands of survivors as Alexandria, Season 7 will bring in new groups in greater numbers.

"The Walking Dead" Season 7 will not only introduce Negan's (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) Saviors more in-depth. "The Walking Dead" series will also let Rick Grimes' group get more intimately acquainted with Gregory's The Hilltop colony and Ezekiel's (Khary Payton) The Kingdom.

Parent Herald cites reports that The Whisperers may also be making their appearance in "The Walking Dead" Season 7. Entertainment Weekly reports that Robert Kirkman pointed out that while "The Walking Dead" fans have been focused on the death(s) that will happen in the Season 7 premiere, "TWD" S7 Episode 1 survivors have a bigger story to tell.
