The latest NBA trade rumors are out and it is about J.R. Smith, Nerlens Noel, and DeMarcus Cousins. According to reports, Smith will be going to Philadelphia 76ers, Noel will be acquired by the Toronto Raptors, and Cousins will be coming to the Los Angeles Lakers.
Smith has not signed with Cleveland Cavaliers yet as his $75 million five-year-deal with the NBA team is reportedly not favored. He was reportedly offered a $10 million per season deal but he demanded $15 million. Smith recently shared in a statement that he does not want the Cleveland Cavaliers to feel like he is taking advantage of them as he believes there is mutual respect between them, Christian Post reported. He added, "Financially, you can always go somewhere else. Team moral-wise, there are a few teams that I could see working."
Last NBA season, Cleveland Cavaliers paid Smith $5 million. If ever the Cleveland Cavaliers cannot match the salary he is asking for, Philadelphia 76ers is reportedly willing to take him. The NBA team has $24 million in cap space to spare so it is possible that they could steal Smith from Cleveland Cavaliers. Other teams being linked to Smith are Brooklyn Nets, Denver Nuggets, Phoenix Suns, and Utah Jazz.
The other NBA trade rumor concerns Noel and accordingly the Philadelphia 76ers power forward is interested to be acquired by the Toronto Raptors. Philadelphia 76ers will get Normal Powell and Cory Joseph in exchange of Noel. The Toronto Raptors is also reportedly willing to add a future draft pick if the deal will work. If this deal will take place, Noel could work alongside Jonas Valanciunas.
Lastly, the trade rumor that has been circulating for quite some time now includes Sacramento Kings' Cousins. Cousins has been in the trading rumor mill since the offseason started. Los Angeles Lakers will reportedly trade D'Angelo Russell and Julius Randle for Cousins.
News Everyday reported, however, that the Cleveland Cavaliers is interested in getting Cousins to play alongside LeBron James and Kyrie Irving. Kevin Love and Tristan Thompson are reportedly to be let go by Cleveland Cavaliers in order to get Cousins from Sacramento Kings.
