Though the Queen B was a no-show at the recently held Emmy's, her soldiers were there to support her. The beehive was even contesting over the loss of Beyonce's "Lemonade" to "Grease: Live."
The "Lemonade" album was nominated four times, that's why Beyonce's absence made everyone wonder, "Where is the superstar?" The "Formation" singer was apparently sick, Us Magazine reported.
The singer had to rest her vocals so as not to "underperform" during her tour. Beyonce lost her visual album "Lemonade" for the Outstanding Directing for a Variety Special Fox's "Grease: Live." Laverne Cox, "Orange is the New Black" cast, who announced the category, was also disappointed over Beyonce's absence.
Fans of Beyonce were infuriated over the loss. Fans took to social media to vent their frustrations. "When you're obsessed with musical theatre but you also know Beyonce's Lemonade had more fire than grease. Tbh," one fan said. "Thank you, Emmys for once again proving you're useless. #Lemonade," one user tweeted. Memes also started pouring in when the announcement was made.
Another hoped Kanye West would interrupt the show again, like what the rapper did when Taylor Swift was about to give her speech for an award, another Us Magazine report said. "I wouldn't want to be those guys when Kanye finds out they beat Beyonce!" host Jimmy Kimmel even joked during the event.
Thomas Kail and Alex Rudzinski, directors of "Grease: Live," accepted the award for Outstanding Directing for a Variety Special. "Grease: Live" stars Julianne Hough, Aaron Tveit, Vanessa Hudgens and Keke Palmer.
"Lemonade" was released in April, first in HBO and then in iTunes. Beyonce also won nine times at the last MTV Video Music Awards. Some of Beyonce's songs are "Love on Top," "Irreplaceable," "If I were a Boy" and "Formation."
