"Game Of Thrones" Season 7 may be penultimate to the current HBO series based on "A Song Of Ice And Fire" (ASOIF) by George R.R. Martin, but a "GoT" prequel likely follows the S8 finale fates of Tyrion Lannister (Peter Dinklage), Daenerys Targaryen (Emilia Clarke) and Jon Snow (Kit Harington). However, although George R.R. Martin is willing to bring more of "A Song Of Ice And Fire" to TV, executive producers David Benioff and DB Weiss are done with Westeros with "Game Of Thrones" Season 8.
Although "Game Of Thrones" fans are dreading the end of the road for the Westeros characters, George R.R. Martin may have something up his sleeve for "GoT" fans. According to the Telegraph, a "Game Of Thrones" prequel from George R.R. Martin could make its way to tv screens once David Benioff and DB Weiss have completed their "GoT" run.
George R.R. Martin admitted to Deadline that the "Game Of Thrones" author has been creating pre-histories for "A Song Of Ice And Fire." If a "Game Of Thrones" prequel is decided on George R.R. Martin revealed that the "ASOIF" author has more to bring "GoT" fans.
George R.R. Martin cautioned, however, that a "Game Of Thrones" prequel will have to wait for GRRM to complete "The Winds Of Winter" and "A Dream Of Spring" in his "ASOIF" saga. Although a "Game Of Thrones" prequel is a possibility, George R.R. Martin qualifies that this does not guarantee the new "GoT" series.
While confirmation by HBO and George R.R. Martin on a "Game Of Thrones" prequel is pending, "GoT" fans has a new major battle to get through in S7 as Emilia Clarke told TVLine. DB Weiss similarly told Deadline that "Game Of Thrones" Season 7 will be a bigger and worse offering for "GoT" fans.
HBO will air the "Game Of Thrones" Season 7 premiere after production work for "GoT" S7 wraps up in February 2017. Would you be happy with a "Game Of Thrones" prequel after "GoT" S8 reveals the final truths about Iron Throne favorites Tyrion Lannister, Daenerys Targaryen and Jon Snow?
