The blood clot which started from his leg, slowly spread and eventually reached his lungs. The clotting would be life-threatening without the use blood thinners, but it would be impossible for Bosh to play while under medication.

Bosh is currently under a $76 million dollar contract with the Heat for the next three years, and will still get paid regardless if he would be able to play, according to CBS Sports. Despite being unable to play, he still remains as the Heat's highest paid player.
