"Call of Duty" fans are in for treats as "Call of Duty 3" is now available for play on the Xbox One console through Microsoft's Backward Compatibility program. "Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare," on the other hand, is soon to reveal its multiplayer beta version intended for the Xbox One and PlayStation 4 in Oct.
Microsoft's recent addition to its Backward Compatibility program, "Call of Duty 3," was listed after "Call of Duty 2" was added last month. It appears that Microsoft aims to bring the "Call of Duty" franchise to the Xbox One platform to give fans more selections on "Call of Duty" action.
Reports claimed that the "Call of Duty" franchise is one of the most requested titles that players want to be available on the Xbox One. "Call of Duty Black Ops 2" was actually the first on the most requested games list, Windows Report reported. "Call of Duty 3" currently sells at $19.99 on the Xbox Store while the disc copy of the game costs a bit more at $12 on Amazon.
Meanwhile, "Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare" is now near its completion and its multiplayer beta is arriving soon as confirmed by a tweet from game developer Infinity Ward. The tweet reads "We've gone gold! Excited for our upcoming MP Beta and all the optimizing we can do for launch with your gameplay data."
This apparently means that "Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare" development has now reached its finalization stage. "Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare" is reportedly being examined by Sony and Microsoft for approval before the production of game discs commence, UberGizmo reported.
"Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare" multiplayer beta is expected to be a PS4 exclusive for the first week. The game will then be opened to Xbox players after the week. The multiplayer beta is slated to start on Oct. 14 and will run until Oct. 24, reportedly.
