"Wayward Pines" Season 3 from Fox and originally based on a trilogy by Blake Crouch will be a highlight on human nature in the face of Abbie (Aberration) ascendancy. The "Wayward Pines" series began as a collaboration among Fox, Blake Crouch, M. Night Shyamalan and "Stranger Things" creators Matt and Ross Duffer.
"Wayward Pines" Season 2 star Jason Patric (Dr. Theo Yedlin) highlighted to E! News that S1 had been an exposition of the mysterious town. The focal point of "Wayward Pines" Season 1 had been the secretive town in Idaho that S1 leads Sheriff Ethan Burke (Matt Dillon), wife Theresa (Shannyn Sossamon) and son Ben (Charlie Tahan) uncovered.
M. Night Shyamalan pointed out to //FILM that "Wayward Pines" Season 2 was meant to be an exposition of the Abbies. While both the human characters and the viewers of the Fox series may have formulated an understanding of the nature of Abbies, "Wayward Pines" Season 2 challenged these conclusions.
The Abbies had been easy enough to dismiss in "Wayward Pines" Season 1 as carnivorous monsters that an electric fence could keep out. However, "Wayward Pines" Season 2 brought on a twist that proved the Abbies, with their queen Margaret (Rochelle Okoye), were so much more.
"Wayward Pines" Season 2 ended with the humans on the losing side and the Abbies with the upper hand. Backed into a corner the humans, with the help of CJ Mitchum (Djimon Hounsou), went back into cryostasis to wait for a more hopeful era.
However, hope may be on short supply for humans in "Wayward Pines" Season 3 awakening to a world of evolved Abbies. Blake Crouch promised that "Wayward Pines" Season 3 will focus on exploring human nature confronted by the threat of extinction of the species.
Fans of the Fox series are hopeful to see a "Wayward Pines" Season 3 air date for 2017. Meanwhile, how do you see "Wayward Pines" Season 3 turning out for humans and Abbies?
