"Destiny 2" recently hit the rumor mill again, with the latest speculations suggesting that those who prefer playing the PC platform's mouse and keyboard for first person shooter games will finally be able to get in on the action of protecting humanity's last bastion on earth as a "Destiny" Guardian.
First signs of the rumor that Bungie will be delivering "Destiny 2" to the PC platform showed up on NeoGAF, as shared by Gamespot. A NeoGAF user by the handle of benny_a posted on the forums, sharing their correspondence with a friend whom they claim works at Activision, the publisher of "Destiny," and that currently unannounced "Destiny 2" will be coming to the PC.
Allegedly, benny_a's friend at Activision was on a plane, presumably with other Activision employees, where they "saw a presentation on another person's laptop" that showed Vicarious Visions and High Moon Studios will be joining development for the sequel and that Bungie will be instituting a matchmaking feature in raids. Vicarious is the company responsible for recent entries in the "Skylanders" series, while High Moon developed 2013's "Deadpool" video game.
Kotaku's Jason Schreier later corroborated the NeoGAF rumor, suggesting other and prior instances of "Destiny 2" being developed for the PC. Substantiating this prospect is the fact that the original game's restriction to consoles meant that Bungie alienated a very big prospective audience with the release of the first "Destiny."
Opening up "Destiny 2" to the PC platform means that more players will be able to play the sequel; and as gaming on the PC is more popular for first person shooter fans because of the precision the mouse gives player control, PC players might be more inclined to the game. Furthermore, the limitations of the previous console generation are also no longer a factor in developing the game as the PlayStation 4 and the Xbox One are much more powerful, especially with their upcoming updated versions.
