"Game Of Thrones" Season 7 and 8 may see a "GoT" spin-off with David Benioff and DB Weiss back on board. More HBO adaptation of George R.R. Martin material with a "Game Of Thrones" spin-off had been making the news.
HBO programming president Casey Bloys is realistic and hopeful about the prospect of any "Game Of Thrones" spin-off. Talking to The Hollywood Reporter, Casey Bloys reveals that a "Game Of Thrones" spin-off has numerous possibilities.
However, Casey Bloys highlights that HBO will only do a "Game Of Thrones" spin-off under the right circumstances. "For us, it's about finding the right take with the right writer," Casey Bloys said of "Game Of Thrones" spin-off plans.
If HBO finds these required conditions, will "Game Of Thrones" executive producers David Benioff and DB Weiss join in? "Game Of Thrones" fans recently learned that this would not be so.
David Benioff and DB Weiss effectively told The Hollywood Reporter at the 2016 Emmy Awards that "Game Of Thrones" Season 9 is the end of the line for the pair. However, Casey Bloys explained that the response David Benioff and DB Weiss gave about the "Game Of Thrones" spin-off is expected.
Mainly because David Benioff and DB Weiss are still well into the production of "Game Of Thrones" Season 7. The prospect of jumping back in with a "Game Of Thrones" spin-off understandably holds little appeal to the pair at this point.
Still Casey Bloys said that a "Game Of Thrones" spin-off might have David Benioff and DB Weiss in a different capacity if it does happen. At the moment HBO has yet to firm up plans on continuing further with new "Game Of Thrones" related materials.
In the meantime, HBO is set to air "Game Of Thrones" Season 7 in the summer of 2017. What type of "Game Of Thrones" spin-off would you want from HBO?
