The season 7 premiere of "The Walking Dead" has plenty of twists and turns in store, in their most anticipated season yet. Greg Nicotero reveals that the opening episode will leave plenty of fans devastated.
Greg Nicotero, who directed the first episode of season 7 of "The Walking Dead," explained that it was the most difficult one to direct, leaving him and the rest of the crew with plenty of heartache. Nicotero, while on AMC's show "Geeking Out," revealed that while many are anticipating the reveal go the character that Negan killed by beating to death with his barbed baseball bat, that won't be the only jaw-dropping moment in store, according to a report from Moviefone.
Nicotero added that the entire season of "The Walking Dead" was going to be very intense, and that he couldn't believe how emotionally affected he was during the filming. It was the first time that fans will get to see Rick Grimes stripped of his power and pushed to his ultimate breaking point.
In another interview with Entertainment Weekly, Nicotero explained that the first episode will pick up from the major cliffhanger from the end of season 6 of "The Walking Dead", where Rick and his people are trapped by Negan and the Saviours, they were put in a situation that there was nobody who could come to their help. The last time that they were in a similar predicament, Carol was able to rescue them, but this won't be the case this time.
The cast of "The Walking Dead," says Nicotero, were put in an uncomfortable setting and gave off a different vibe when it came to filming for season 7. The first episodes are going to be relentless, and will bring viewers to a deeper, darker place.
Season 7 of "The Walking Dead will premiere on October 23.
