"Pokemon Go" extended its global coverage to more countries recently, with trainers in a number of African nations now having access to the "Pokemon Go" just in time for Niantic to also release a sneak peek of a brand new update to the game that expands the gym training system.
According to the official "Pokemon Go" website, as reported by Gamespot, "Pokemon Go" is now open for play in a total of 31 more countries in the continent of Africa. The countries where players may now catch up to their dream of becoming the very best include Kenya, Madagascar, Malawi, Mauritius, Mozambique, Rwanda, Seychelles, Tanzania, Uganda, Zambia, Chad, Gabon, Sao Tome and Principe, Egypt, Morocco, Botswana, and Namibia.
Other countries now able to access "Pokemon Go" are South Africa, Swaziland, Benin, Burkina Faso, Cape Verde, Cote d'Ivoire, Gambia, Ghana, Guinea-Bissau, Liberia, Mauritania, Niger, Sierra Leone, and Togo. Players in these countries can join in other trainers around the world just in time for a new update to hit "Pokemon Go."
According to the update description from Niantic, the "Pokemon Go" patch will target the Pokemon Gym system in the game and change some of its base mechanics. For one, "Pokemon Go" trainers will now be able to battle with a roster of six of their pokemon instead of having to make do with only one critter.
This new update will bring "Pokemon Go" to be much more in line with the gameplay elements of the main games, where pokemon trainers have always had the option to bring in a team of six pokemon to each battle. Furthermore, the update will also implement a new feature that will balance out a Pokemon Gym training session by adjusting the CP of an opposing pokemon to be more even with a player's own critters by lowering them down.
Overall, it seems that the new updates for "Pokemon Go" means more players in more countries and more pokemon in battles. No news yet when the update will hit, or how the expander roster will come into play.
