The Smartphone industry took notice when Google announced the Pixel and Pixel XL in their recently concluded hardware event. In essence, Google's new Smartphone can, without a doubt, carry the legacy of the Nexus. But with all the buzz and hype, companies like LG are just waiting in one corner for their time to make their presence felt. LG V20 is the company's new flagship.
According to tech site Android Police, LG will debut the LG V20 on October 21 and thus, making it the first to have the new Nougat Operating System and the United States. What's more interesting is that T-Mobile will be offering the LG V20 starting October 28th. And for a limited time, future owners of the handset will also get a pair of Bang & Olufsen BeoPlay H3 headphones worth $149 as part of their Un-carrier deal. Customers can simply visit LG.com/V20 to redeem the H3 headset.
Android Authority meanwhile said that the LG V20 "will be the very first phone" to run T-Mobile's LTE AWS-3 spectrum. This came as no surprise considering that network provider aimed to release the licenses "as early as the end of the year." Another prediction came from Evan Blass for forecasted the handset's arrival on October 21.The arrival of the LG V20 also takes a shot at the Pixel, since its release will undoubtedly shake Google's current streak, deter the attention of the Smartphone community a bit and make them focus on a perennial eye-candy when it hits the market.
The LG V20 will come with a 5.7inch QHD TFT display, 2.1GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 quad-core processor, 4GB of RAM, Quad DAC and 64GB onboard storage (expandable up to 2TB via microSD). Camera-wise, it will sport a 16megapixel rear camera alongside an 8megapixel front facing snapper. LG also gave the V20 a removable battery even though it's built mostly out of aluminum. T-Mobile on the other hand told the general public in its official statement that the "pricing information" of the LG V20 "will be shared closer to launch."
