"God Of War" 4 from Sony Santa Monica and game director Cory Barlog will have no E3 2016 demo follow up at the PSX this December. While "GOW 4" enthusiasts have been hoping to see more Kratos in new "God Of War" 4 demo from Sony, Cory Barlog has good reason for saying "No."
Kratos' debut of the new "God Of War" 4 at the 2016, was a surprising reveal among "GOW" fans. Sony Santa Monica and Cory Barlog successfully presented an overhaul of the "God Of War" franchise.
With the changes in "GOW" game system and game play as Kratos, "God Of War 4" was a message that Sony and Cory Barlog were listening to the franchise's fans. Not only did Sony and Cory Barlog strengthen the technicals but also gave "God Of War" 4 a more compelling story as Parent Herald cites.
Cory Barlog admitted that "God Of War" 4 took some inspiration mainly from "Resident Evil 7" and even from "The Last Of Us." As a result, "God Of War" 4 will now let "GOW" players take a turn as rehabilitated Kratos.
That is not to say that resident "God Of War" hothead Kratos loses his mettle. However, as opposed to his previous turn as a maniacal killer, "God Of War" 4 follows Kratos in a journey of self-awareness, emphasized by his relationship with his new son.
To be sure, "God Of War" 4 is nothing short of ambitious - a fact that Cory Barlog is quite upfront with. As a result, "God Of War" 4 sets a huge amount of work for Sony Santa Monica and Cory Barlog.
When prodded on Twitter about the coming Playstation Experience (PSX) 2016 and for more "God Of War" 4 demos, Cory Barlog set expectations clearly. "GOW" fans won't have any more "God Of War" 4 demo to expect.
Cory Barlog explains why "God Of War" 4 will do better with less demo releases. "Demos pull a month or two away from final game," Cory Barlog wrote.
At best PSX 2016 in California, which is slated for December, could allow a few key details to trickle out about "God Of War" 4. Without "GOW" demos to worry about, Sony Santa Monica and Cory Barlog could be ready for a "God Of War" 4 release in 2018.
