Carmelo Anthony and Jeremy Lin are rumored to be feuding after the latter player was not seen showing off his skills on the court while Brooklyn Nets took on the New York Knicks. This rumor was slammed by Brooklyn Nets' coach, Kenny Atkinson, as he said that Lin was purposely not allowed to play because it is a strategy they are testing.
Sportsrageous reported that Lin, a pointguard, once had this craze called "Linsanity" when he was still with the New York Knicks and it is believed that Anthony was jealous of it. In a recent interview with Complex magazine, Anthony was asked about "Linsanity" and he said, "That was five, six years ago, bro. I forgot about that."
However, Anthony noted that Lin is the new face of the Brooklyn Nets saying that he is the expression of the franchise because he came up, they paid him, and now he gets to play. Anthony said that he is excited for Lin and is happy for his former New York Knicks co-player.
Despite these positive statements, the former New York Knicks coach, Mike D' Antoni, said in a statement that he believes Anthony's jealousy over Lin during "Linsanity" was real. Lin, on the other hand, said in an interview that every time he runs into Anthony or has any kind of interaction with the New York Knicks power forward, he has bene really nice and cordial. Lin said that he has never had personal issues with Anthony or any kind of fight or argument.
As for Lin not playing when Brooklyn Nets went against New York Knicks over the weekend, which fueled the rumors that he and Anthony are feuding, coach Atkinson said that they chose not to let Lin and Luis Scola play because they want to see other players play for the team, Newsday reported. However, with the decision to not let Lin play, they lost against New York Knicks with a score of 116-98.
Atkinsons also said that Lin is a great player and he is excited to have him play for the Brooklyn Nets when asked about Anthony's comments that he is the new face of the franchise.
