There is no doubt that George RR Martin's "A Song of Ice and Fire" is the hottest novel series today. Unfortunately, fans are still waiting for its sixth book. Reports have it that "The Winds of Winter" is still two years away.
"ASOIAF" fans are slowly losing patience for the continuous delay of "The Winds of Winter." Initially, George RR Martin announced that he wants the book out before "Game of Thrones" Season 6.
Unfortunately, HBO's hit series returned for its sixth season and was even over, yet "The Winds of Winter" is not yet out. Now, George RR Martin is reportedly aiming to release "The Winds of Winter" before "Game of Thrones" Season 7 premieres. However, new reports suggest that fans should not hope for "TWOW" in 2017.
Amazon France made headlines earlier after posting a controversial placeholder with the alleged release date of "The Winds of Winter." George RR Martin's publishers reacted immediately addressing the rumors about the release date but their response only confirmed that the wait is not over.
According to them, George RR Martin is still writing "The Winds of Winter" and debunked the reports claiming that the book will be out in March 2017. Due to this, many believe that if "The Winds of Winter" is still a no-show in 2017, then, perhaps, the book will be out in 2018, the Gamers Drop reported.
At the time, "Game of Thrones" Season 7 is expected to air next year. It will be the last run of the most successful fantasy drama from HBO and many remain doubtful if "The Winds of Winter" will be released prior to its premiere date.
In fact, per Breathecast, "The Winds of Winter" will only be released after "Game of Thrones" Season 7 finale. George RR Martin is reportedly busy with the popular TV show, giving him less to no time to work on the long overdue "The Winds of Winter."
Aside from this, the "The Winds of Winter" scribe is busy with conferences and other public appearances. In fact, he just returned from Emmys where he admitted that tons of works are waiting for him to work on.
Do you agree that it is unlikely to see "The Winds of Winter" in the bookshelves prior to "Game of Thrones" Season 7? Are you still hopeful to see "TWOW" this year or next year?
