'Homeland' Season 6 Spoilers & News: Claire Danes Hints Carrie & Quinn Still Together? Why Saul Won't Give Up On Her

"Homeland" is currently in production in New York and it has recently been revealed why the show has zeroed in on this setting for the sixth season. As it happens, Quinn (Rupert Friend) is the main reason for Carrie's (Claire Danes) settlement in the Big Apple. On the other hand, Saul (Mandy Patinkin) is not about to give up on Carrie, who is his old friend, ally and colleague.

According to TV Guide, Carrie Mathison stays in New York in "Homeland" Season 6 to look after Quinn, who is still recovering from his near-death health scare. Viewers may recall that in the last season of "Homeland," Quinn suffered a stroke and his chances for recovery were regarded as slim.

But as previously reported on Parent Herald, Rupert Friend has been spotted on the set of "Homeland" in New York, which already rules out that his character has died. But whether or not Quinn and Carrie are still an item remains uncertain. However, Danes' recent pronouncements at the Paley Fest over the weekend seemed to confirm they are still together.

"She's in New York because Quinn is receiving therapy here," the actress said to a panel discussion. Claire Danes further reveals that her character in "Homeland" Season 6 will be "annoying the crap" out of Quinn, Vulture reports. Again, this hints of the dynamics of the relationship between Carrie and Quinn.

Meanwhile, it's also been previously reported that Carrie will no longer be working for the CIA in "Homeland" Season 6. Instead, her character will be taking a job with a non-profit group that supports Muslim affairs. However, longtime colleague Saul will continue to pursue's Carrie's return to her old job.

Mandy Patinkin describes Carrie and Saul's relationship in an odd way, but it makes a lot of sense for their characters. "She's like the Vitamix. Everything that we would think is good for our bodies goes into her," the actor told the same panel, Variety reports. "If he puts them near or in the Vitamix they will come out and make you a stronger person," he added.

"Homeland" Season 6 is expected to premiere on Jan. 15, 2017 on Showtime. Review the events of Season 5's final episode in the video below.
