Samsung Galaxy Note 7 Production Stops; Downfall Of Samsung Shares; Will Note 8 Release?

Samsung Galaxy Note 7 will no more explode. Tech giant, Samsung has reportedly shut down the production of its controversial product of the year, Galaxy Note 7.

Recently, Samsung was replacing phones round the globe for battery heating issues. According to Yonhap News Agency, an unknown Samsung employee told the step was taken for safety measures in South Korea, China and the United States. However, media is waiting for an official statement to be released by Samsung.

Released back in August, Galaxy Note 7 had various issues - battery heating, exploding, which made Samsung to replace thousands of phones in US and Asia. According to Samsung, half of its Note 7 devices were returned claiming defective and more than 90 percent of people have asked for a an exchange.

Samsung has faced disastrous fall in the sale of Note 7 due to continuous reports on battery issues like evacuation of a Southwest Airlines flight; a teenage girl's injury. According to CNET News, AT&T and T-Mobile have stopped selling Galaxy Note 7 and exchanging the phone for another one.

Although, Samsung has released any news on the halt of Galaxy Note 2 production, but on Sunday it said that they are working diligently with authorities and third party experts to investigate the problem with the replacement Notes. "If we determine a product safety issue exists, Samsung will take immediate steps approved by the [Consumer Product Safety Commission] to resolve the situation."

Samsung's shares fall after it called for replacing Galaxy Note 7. Reportedly, the shares fell to the lowest levels in just two months after the company announced for replacement.

IBK Securities analyst Lee Seung-woo said it was initially believed that the Galaxy Note 7 could be the best smartphone ever, but now it is possible the phone will go down as the worst ever, Time reported.

Samsung's expect Galaxy Note 8 is rumoured to be re-designed solving all the battery issues that came up with Note 7. Galaxy Note 8 is expected to hit market February next year. There are possibilties of not releasing Note 8.
