If you ask Avengers fans who their favorite superhero is, most, if not all will probably say "Iron Man." Robert Downey Jr.'s "Iron Man" appeal to both young and adult audiences. For this reason, fans are yearning for "Iron Man 4." However, according to recent reports, MCU Phase 3 lineup does not include the anticipated fourth "Iron Man" installment.
Parent Herald previously reported that Robert Downey Jr. and Marvel couldn't agree on a deal. The highest-paying actor is reportedly demanding a $50 million salary increase to reprise his role in "Iron Man 4. Later on, Downey JR. allegedly ask to receive a percentage of "Iron Man 4's" income because he knows that it will be a hit.
Well, "Iron Man" fans agree that Robert Downey has a huge contribution to the franchise. If not for him, we are not sure if "Iron Man" will be a success. However, it seems that Marvel is not willing to give in to Downey Jr.'s demand and is now moving on from "Iron Man 4".
Last year, Robert Downey Jr. admitted to Ellen that he was in negotiation with Marvel concerning "Iron Man 4." In fact, when prompted by the host, the actor confirmed that the film was in talks. At that time, fans were expecting that "Iron Man 4" was one of the movies in MCU Phase 3 lineup which the media franchise opted not to reveal.
In their post, Marvel announced that there are three films in phase 3 that will be released in 2020. However, per Australia Network News, "Iron Man 4" is not part of the MCU Phase 3 lineup, which only confirms that we will no longer see Robert Downey Jr. in his "Iron Man" suit.
This report only intensifies the reports that Robert Downey Jr. and Marvel fail to negotiate and reach a deal. While both parties are ready to move on, fans are stuck with the franchise. A last "Iron Man" film a.k.a "Iron Man 4" would be a treat to fans who wish to give their favorite superhero a great wrap up.
