The survivors of the Lakewood Six are back for more creepy events in "Scream" Halloween Special next week. The upcoming installment is apparently teasing the possible return of MTV's teen horror drama for a third season.
"Scream" is the television adaptation of the classic 1996 serial killer murdering flick of Wes Craven that debuted last summer. The series' previous seasons have successfully established a new serial killer legend and original characters that's why fans our looking forward for "Scream" season 3 renewal, especially when the synopsis for the series' Halloween Special hinted for more "Scream" to come.
Based on the latest spoiler reports, there may be a possible "Scream" season 3 as the Lakewood Six survivors return for a two-hour Halloween Special episode next week. The episode will feature a time jump and will follow the events after Keiran's (Amadeus Serafini) arrest.
In the "Scream" Halloween Special trailer posted by Entertainment Weekly, the Lakewood Six survivors, who believed that Kieran is set to take a bloody retribution, will find themselves on an island. The publication added that the upcoming Halloween Special will feature a Brandon James' "old murder mystery legend" and a "brand new killing spree."
In addition, TVLine revealed that "Scream" Halloween Special episode, which will feature an eight-month time jump, will also depict the events of the season finale of its previous season where Emma (Willa Fitzgerald) is being followed by the media. Brooke (Carlson Young), on the other hand, is contemplating to move to New York City with Gustavo (Snatiago Segura), who collaborated with Noah (John Karna) to release a bestselling graphic novel about the Lakewood killings.
Meanwhile, with the not so great ratings of "Scream" season 2, CarterMatt revealed that the two-hour Halloween Special may be the way of the series' creators to finally conclude the cliffhanging events and the unanswered mystery in the previous season. Even though many are hoping for "Scream" season 3, the rumors about the series' renewal remain as mere speculations.
