Samsung Permanently Pulls Out Galaxy Note 7; Couldn’t Solve The Combustion Problem?

Samsung is facing a major setback in its reputation as a provider of one of the best smartphones as the Galaxy Note 7 woes continue. The South Korean tech giant is now permanently discontinuing the Samsung Galaxy Note 7 devices.

Samsung has issued a full recall of the Samsung Galaxy Note 7 after reports that the replacement units also caught fires that resulted in delayed flights, house fires and additional government investigations. In a filing with the regulators in South Korea, the company said it would totally cease productions and sales of its most recent flagship device, the Samsung Galaxy Note 7, as reported by The Wall Street Journal.

The safety of its consumers is the top priority, which is why the company is discontinuing the Galaxy Note 7 for good. The move could be the best for consumers because even after a month, Samsung could not still find out why the units are catching fire, according to The Verge, citing The New York Times.

While the tech giant initially blamed faulty batteries, the NYT said Samsung is still unable to replicate the problem. The things got worse that a week after the replacement units have been shipped, which contain a different battery from another supplier, they were also reported to be defective as well.

Experts said that Samsung might have blamed the batteries too soon. Park Chul-wan, a former director of the Center for Advanced Batteries at the Korea Electronics Technology Institute, believes there is nothing wrong with the batteries. Instead, he said that the issue could be in the complexity of the device. Park noted that the Galaxy Note 7 is packed with more features and too much innovation to a point that it becomes uncontrollable.

In the meantime, those who own a Galaxy Note 7 are advised to turn off their device and return them to their carrier, or wherever they bought them, for a refund or exchange.
