Amid rising pieces of evidence and considering the time that has passed, JonBennet Ramsey's death has not yet been given justice. To date, as the crime nears its 20th anniversary when JonBennet was killed in her Boulder home, the suspect remains at large.
Cable networks, Lifetime and CBS, have delved into the details of JonBenet's death after court has ordered the reopening of her case. Rolling Stone reports that since the start of the recent investigation, the eight primary suspects primarily composed of her close relatives and a few off-related people.
These people are speculated to have committed the gruesome crime that happened on Dec. 26, 1996. Here is the first part of the primary eight JonBenet killing suspects.
After the death of JonBenet, her mother, Patsy Ramsey, was the first close family to be accused of the six-year-old's death. Rumor has it that the former beauty queen accidentally murdered JonBenet out of anger after she peed on her bed. JonBenet was reported to be a frequent bedwetter, according to a CNN transcript of "Who Killed JonBenet?".
JonBenet was found with blunt head blows which might have incurred from slamming into a hard object. In the crime scene, she was found with a rope tied around her neck, apparently made out of Patsy's painting materials.
A ransom note has also been found along with JonBenet's lifeless body, with the suspects asking for $118,000. Police investigation showed that the ransom had the same amount was what Patsy's husband, John, was supposed to get as a Christmas incentive. Moreover, the ransom note was written using Patsy's stationery and own pen.
Family friends came into Patsy's defense, as they said that she would never harm JonBenet in anyway. However, the former Miss West Virginia beauty queen was criticized for forcing her daughter into entering beauty pageants, igniting sexualizing concerns for JonBenet.
As previously reported by Parent Herald, JonBenet has been pushed to do beauty pageants due to her maternal side's legacy of winning such contests. JonBenet's maternal grandmother, Nedra, was reported to be the one who forced Patsy and the six-year-old.
