The CW hit series "The Originals" is being placed on murky waters as rumors of the show's cancellation continually surfaced. There are slim chances that the well-loved series will be airing its 4th season despite wrapping the finale and announcing the premiere date.

"The Originals" season 4 is said to air on January 29, 2017, but Movie News Guide reports that the channel "may not" air the series.

As "The Originals" cancellations rumors continually surfaced, Inquisitr reports that the series is bound to air on ABC, the CW has yet to release a statement in terms of "The Originals" being aired on another network.

It is still uncertain as to whether the series would be canceled or not, but speculations emerged that the cancellation rumor is said to stir the crowd's interest, sparking their curiosity. "The Originals" season 4 is said to feature new characters. The TV Guide showed hints that Marcel was not the real enemy as Michael Narducci denied that allegations regarding the rumors.

The new character who is said to be a villain will go after Klaus as the villain holds a grudge against him. It was then mentioned that Vincent was the first character that he latched on. During an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Julie Plec dished out a few spoilers in regards to "The Originals" succeeding episodes.

"The indignity of Klaus Mikaelson's situation the last five years [is being] held captive by his surrogate son and forced to be an advisor to a king that he does not recognize," Plec teased. "Also, [he knows] Marcel is actually singularly responsible for the fact he's alive because so many people have come to town in the last five years desperate to see him reduced to ash."
